The difference between pure cotton and all-cotton lies in the cotton content, similar to the distinction between pure silver and sterling silver. Pure silver is not actually 100% silver, but rather over 90% silver, and is thus considered 'pure'. According to Shaanxi New Star Textile, the cotton content of the pure cotton clothing we typically wear is generally over 70%, whereas all-cotton must reach over 90%. Generally, pure cotton fabric is made primarily from cotton and must have a cotton content of over 70% to be considered pure cotton fabric. All-cotton fabric is often used in clothing and other materials; common types of all-cotton include broadcloth, linen, twill, khaki, work cloth, oxford cloth, youth cloth, khaki, woolen, horizontal satin, line fabric, and velvet, indicating that all-cotton means the fabric is made entirely of 100% cotton, which can be distinguished by its content. Shaanxi New Star Textile has found that essentially, there is not much of a difference between pure cotton and all-cotton; it mainly depends on the degree of shrinkage after washing. Both pure cotton and all-cotton will experience some shrinkage, but pure cotton fabrics tend to shrink more and wrinkle more easily, while all-cotton wrinkles less severely than pure cotton. Therefore, all-cotton is relatively better, but fundamentally they are the same.
